Allentown, Pa. - At 18:58 box 3443 was transmitted for 747 E. Highland Street sending Engines 6, 13, 9, Truck 2 and Battalion 43 (Henrick) on the ticket. Two 911 calls were received.
Engine 6 arrives and reports heavy smoke from a 1-story auto repair shop. Two lines were stretched for a car fire inside the garage that extended to the cockloft. Battalion 43 arrived and transmitted a working fire signal bringing with it Engine 4 as the F.A.S.T. company.
All hands went to work and the box was held to the first alarm assignment. Crews had the fire under control 30 minutes later.
