DUMP TRUCK SLAMS INTO FIREHOUSE CAUSING A FATAL 3-ALARM FIRE. FIREHOUSE IS DESTROYED.

Lower Saucon, Pa. - Around 1:00 PM, a large dump truck slammed into the Leithsville Fire Station at 1995 Leithsville Road (Rt. 412) at Flint Hill Road.
A dump truck lost its air brakes coming down Flint Hill Road and attempted to make a left turn on Rt. 412.
The truck then slammed into a car and pushing it along with the occupant into the fire house. The driver of the car was killed.
The dump truck driver managed to free himself and stumble out of the fire house. He sustained burns to his arms.
The 3rd alarm fire brought in tankers from across the region. On top of the 3rd alarm, 2 tanker task force were alerted. Companies from Northampton, Lehigh and Bucks Counties assisted in fighting the blaze.
It took firefighters over 2 hours to bring the fire under control and numerous hours more to overhaul.
The passenger car was found during overhaul. The Northampton County Coroners Office was dispatched to the scene.
