ONE DEAD IN 4 CAR ACCIDENT ON THE INTERSTATE

Allentown, Pa. - 10:30 hours Allentown engines 11, 9, 14, Medic 2, Medic 3, Medic 100 and Battalion 43 responded to a report of the auto extrication on Interstate 78 westbound at Lehigh Street.
Medic 100 arrived and reported 2 pinned and numerous people injured with about 8 cars involved and transmitted a level 1 MCI.
The level 1 incident brought in EMS rigs from Lehigh County EMS stations 62, 63, 66, 73 and 75.
One person in a gold car was reported pinned. The victim in a black car was reported to be class 5 or DOA.
The highway was shut down for several hours while State Police investigated the crash.
