Whitehall, PA - It was around 10:30AM and Whitehall FD responds to a report of a dwelling fire at 3284 West Columbia Street for a fire in the attached garage.
Assistant Chief (4A Kunkle) arrives and reports smoke showing from the garage of a two-story dwelling and transmits a working fire.
While waiting for companies to arrive, he grabs a garden hose with no nozzle attached and attacks the fire, keeping it contained until the arrival of the first-due engine.
Engine 4 (3911) arrives and stretches one hand line to wet down the household goods smoldering in the garage. No cars were in the garage at the time of the fire.
This is the second fire in Whitehall in two days that was attacked and contained by a garden hose.
4 engines, 1 ladder and a rescue responded on the box.
